    @TheWantedOutlaw I’m no expert, and I know you want his opinion, but look for an American Tele on craigslist, as new ones run $1,000. I’m not a Tele guy, I’m certainly a Strat man, but American standard Telecasters by no means fail to disappoint me, no matter which one I pick up.

    Classic Vibe Squier Tele’s are as excellent as the $500 Mexican-made Fender guitars as well, and look stunning to boot. Just depends on what you prefer. Try several out at your nearest Guitar Center if you can.
